EDC & Speed
https://www.facebook.com/fireforceed...6216051602084/
A video that shows EDC is not just about how fast you can shoot at paper targets when the timer beeps. Speed is important, but first comes assessment, waiting for just the right moment and then action.
Without learning how to do that your chances of failure escalate. An experienced criminal is going to get the drop on you, they aren't as stupid as we all like to believe. Compliance may allow you the opportunity to pick your moment to strike and regain the upper hand by overwhelming them when their guard is down.www.fireforcetactical.co.za

Re: EDC & Speed
Underestimating a criminal can be hazardous in many ways. A colleague once said "the devil does not use stupid people for his purposes". In my line of work it has a very specific meaning and certain consequences, yet within the context of the EDC discussion it means that we should never make the mistake of considering ourselves superior and invulnerable just because we do what is right by protecting ourselves and our loved ones.

I've had the great pleasure of training with some professional face shooters.
I've spoken with more.
All use paper and timers.
Many use not just paper but bullseyes.
Most of the fancy cool guy shit you see spread is from people who've never been in a gunfight. Because most of the actual gun fight victors are huge on fundamentals.
Sport shooting isn't tactical training.
It's a great tool for testing your ability to apply the fundamentals under pressure.

Re: EDC & Speed
As an addition.
Most people's SD marksmanship standards are a joke. Guys consider hits on the paper as acceptable and make up stories about " how that bullet hit his gall bladder and that one his kidney" as opposed to putting bullets where they need to go.
As for timers. Gunfights have very distinct time pressures. Not a yellow box that goes beep. But a/some person:people trying to make you dead. They are normally in a hurry.
The timer allows you to measure your efficiency.
The better these skills are wired into your subconscious the better your ability to perfom them while your conscious mind problem solved.
Hint of the day. Competitive sport shooters generally have those skills pretty well hard wired in.
