Default My first IPSC club shoot experience

    Hi guys

So as I have mentioned here in a thread or 2, I planned on getting in to the IPSC scene this year, and have started looking around and asking a lot of questions regarding all the local clubs etc. I got invited to join as a visitor shooter for yesterday's club shoot at Premier club. It was the most fun I have had with a gun in hand in a long time !! Not sure if any of the guys are on here, I am sure some are, but I just wanted to thank any of them here again ! I have met a friendly and very helpful bunch of guys, all sharing tips and advice where they can. I have really learned a lot, and my mind is still trying to get it all processed ! Was really impressed with the club setup and the guys there ! So yeah, thanks guys !

Well done, Glocked. thats the wright way to do it.

Remember safety first and shoot within your ability. Don't get disappointed when you look at your time, score or equipment. This come with time, practice, experience and some capital investment. After a few years the newby's will llook up to you for advice and admire your skills

Thanx Zuku ! Really looking forward to learn a whole lot more yes !

I forgot to mention the names of the guys in my first post, I am bad with names, so I can't remember them all. I do remember Piet and Wesley, and then my inviter, Francko, and then I have to mention Albert Wessels, think he must have started feeling weird with me staring at him all the time, the guy is crazy quick !

    Well done Gocked.
I believe that the Clubs should make sure that new shooters are well informed on the range rules and regulations.
That will prevent embarrassment and red faces on the range.
I started cleaning my gun one the range during my first shoot on a IPSIC range!!!
Club members should realy make sure new guys are well informed.

They generally do Dawid. Are you saying that your club did not?

Are trying to suggest that IPSC clubs in fact do not keep new shooters informed?

What is the actual purpose of your post?

    2 questions..

    1. Why on gods green earth were you cleaning your firearm?
    and most importantly
    2. Are you saying that you were seated behind the SO and the shooter on the line when you decided to unholster and play with your gun?????

I tried my best to do so ! One of the magic tricks I saw, was a quick circular type hand movement next to the gun, and magically, a split second later, a new fresh magazine full of bang's appeared in the gun !
