I'm curious. Glock was competing for this contract, but Glocks normally don't have a thumb safety.
Since SIG added one, was Glock going to do the same?

From a post I saw yesterday , there are Glocks with external safeties for certain contracts.

Any answers to this would be pure speculation at this point. I don't know if any info on the GLOCK MHS being shared anywhere.

Also $2000+ per pistol. SOCOM, MARSOC, most of NATO, the FBI, etc... all went Glock. I hope President Trum squashes this. General Mattis is not a fan of DoD procurement policy and stated it was better to buy COTS (ie a Glock 19) and be done with it.

Beretta offered the M9A3 for $580 a pistol.
The rumor mill has it that Sig completely blew the others away in terms of price. As $280 per unit. And its genuinely modular which the others aren't.

Have you seen the other entrants? Because I haven't.

Well here's an article from TFB claiming that the US Army will pay $207 per M17 Sig.

No I haven't. I assumed that the other manufacturers had not developed a unique pistol for the military. Do you suspect Glock for example has? Wouldn't make business sense to me. Surely they would have built the 'modularity' into the Gen 4. Unless there is a Gen five on the cards?

Actually the APX has a modular system.

Can the SigP320 owners chime in on this. That safety looks very high... can you see yourself shooting the pistol while resting your thumb on it?
