    Hi Yeti,
It is a Price "mid range" to slot into the $3000 bracket for rifle and scope combined (MSRP) to be able to compete in the PRS Production Division...

Lets you use all the latest looong high BC bullets, and doesn't limit your rifle.
Buying a rifle now days with less than optimal twist is like buying a merc/bmw that only goes 80kmph with a fixed limiter. ;)
    Thank you!

Yip, Rifles has to fall under $2000, and the PRS rules have a list of rifles that are allowed in Production Division.
Below these 'Mid Range' rifles are the more generic polymer / wood stock models varieties like the Rem 700, Tikka T3, Howa 1500, etc.

But honestly... it's not so much the rifle as the shooter.
Better to spend R15k on a rifle and R15 in ammo and courses, rather than R30k on the rifle, and no trigger time.

Am I understanding the information correctly, are only .30cal rifles allowed in production division?

So is this type of shooting is limited to .223 and .30cal rifles.

Hmm... just had a look at the PRS Rulebook, and Production Division doesn't seem to have any caliber or speed limits.

Tac Driver has set our Production Division calibers to:

    • Minimum caliber: 6mm / .243
    • Maximum caliber: .338
    • Maximum muzzle velocity: 3200fps

I'll get more clarity from PRS in the USA.

    Thanks.
On the link, posted by stefanvan, under PRS divisions it says production division has the same caliber restriction as open division. Which according to that link is .30cal

I am def looking at one of these rifles in 6.5cm

    Well spotted.
We (Tac Driver in Cape Town) have opened it up a bit in our competitions to include up to 338's as there are a large number of guys with 338's that have nowhere to shoot them.
Yes, they don't qualify for international PRS points, but most don't really care, and those that do, shoot 6.5's or similar.
