Default Introduction to IDPA shooting - 21 March 2017 - Everybody welcome.

    Hi all

The Brits Defensive Pistol Club (BDPC) will be hosting an introduction to IDPA shooting on 21 March. It's a public holiday (Human Rights Day). Everybody is welcome.
The rules of SADPA (affiliated to IDPA) is such that you cannot attend a shoot unless you are a member. For the guys sitting on the fence and have not yet taken the plunge to do sport shooting, this is your chance to try it out for yourself.

Important to note that this is NOT an official SADPA club shoot.

We will start off with a safety briefing (we take safety very seriously) and this will be followed by a short overview of the rules of the sport. We will be shooting some typical courses of fire to demonstrate the fun of the sport. You can then decide for yourself if you want to join in the fun or not. Afterwards we will be having a BBQ on the range so bring along some meat for the fire. Cold drinks are available on the range. (alcohol only allowed AFTER the shoot)

Venue: Brits Defensive Pistol club range located at the De Kroon private shooting range in Brits, North West. GPS co-ordinates are listed on our website. (about an hour's drive from Jhb and Pretoria)
    Time: 11h00
Cost: R100 range fee per shooter. Spectators are free.

    Equipment required:
Firearm (whatever you have - Revolver or semi-auto pistol) Preferably 9mm or bigger.
At least two magazines / speed loaders.
Holster (no AIWB, small-of-back or cross-draw holsters please).
Round count: about 40 minimum. Bring more if you want.
Please bring along eye / ear protection. A limited amount of "loaner" eye / ear protection is however available at the range.

We can accommodate about 15 shooters, so registration is essential.

It is recommended that interested shooters read though the rules, but it is not a requirement.
To register please send an Email to mic@britsdefensive.co.za with your contact details.

We will only be shooting handgun, but know that rifles and shotguns are also part of the game.

The BDPC will also have our low-light night shoot afterwards, starting at 18h00 on the same day, so everyone is welcome to spectate and see how we do a low-light club shoot.
Important to note is that you will not be allowed to actively shoot the low light club shoot, but are free to spectate and ask questions. All shooting to cease at 21h00.

Hope to see lots of new shooters there.

Just a reminder for all those who are interested in taking up the sport of IDPA to come through and join us.
    You will not regret it.

This is a great opportunity that mic is offering. I attended one of these shoots hosted by mic a few years ago and joined SADPA shortly thereafter. Thank you mic for making your time available.
