Interesting read. I have been using the torch function in my phone a lot lately and I have been flirting with the idea of getting a decent edc torch. The cellphone torch is far from ideal. I will definitely be doing a bit more research on the S1 and S2.

I have both the S1 and S2R batons.

They're both very very nice torches.
While my Nitecore outshines them in terms of distance, the S1 is smaller than a lighter, and the S2 is literally the size of an 18650 battery (plus some fat).

I carry the S2R and forget I have it on my, or the S1 and I need to check if it's still there, because it barely leaves an imprint in my jeans pocket.

    That sounds terrible.....

I have the S1R. It's an amazing torch for it's size and still so easy to use. Highly recommended.

S1 is permanently clipped to my edc bag. The magnetic tail cap often comes in handy when I need light and both hands.

S1 or S1R all the way.

I think everyone needs a S1 in their life....it's just a brilliant piece of kit.

I will choose the S2 every time because of the 18650 rechargeable battery which I use in all my lights.

100% I've made the slow and expensive transition across all my stuff to 18650. Makes it easier.
