Shooter TV Series
Remember a couple of years ago there was a Mark Wahlberg movie, Shooter? It was based on the book Point of Impact. A TV series based on this just finished up in the states. I just finished watching it.
What a lekker tv series! The story is different to the movie but the main points remain the same, Bob Lee Swagger is framed for an assassination attempt on the US President and goes on the run trying to clear his name. The series stars Ryan Phillipe and is co produced by Mark Wahlberg. 10 episodes of great gun fun, so make a plan to download it.
Some very nice gun stuff in the movie:
The man has a reloading room with presses and scales...there is even a scene later of him reloading some rounds.
There is a scene of him running some rounds through a MagnetoSpeed V3 chrony.
The gun stuff in the series is better than most, mostly fingers of triggers and good gun handling.
There is an interesting scene at a Gun Show.
He takes out the baddie sniper with a double charged round....
A very good series, now I need to get my hands on the books.www.480bc.co.za

Re: Shooter TV Series
Excellent books, especially Point of Impact, the first one. Bob Lee Swagger in the book is a Vietnam vet, I believe loosely based on Carlos Hathcock. He is more believable as an older character (of course being an older character myself, I would say that!). Though different media, I found the book better than the movie. I'll try to get hold of the series.
Stephen Hunter, the author of the books, was (is) a journalist who wrote for the Washington Post and New York Times. He converted from an anti-gunner to a pro-gun activist. His books are quite accurate re. gun matters.
