    Hi Guys, sorry for opening an old thread... Has anyone tried this recently? I just asked Brownells if they will courier a mag or 2 to me in SA but they just said it's not allowed...

    Some mags on their website are allowed to be shipped to SA. Use the filter “available outside USA” for the list.

    You probably could, but with the current exchange rate, it would work out to be more costly than buying local.

    New itar rules mean these smaller items are excluded. No more 100 dollar limit and need for itar permit. If not mistaken.

    Do you have concrete data for this? i.e. some site or gazette we can read? I have a friend in the states willing to send me AR magazines, he finds the odd special but need paperwork before he accidentally gets in shit.

    Not at home now. But it was published on nssf and was confirmed by u.s source. The ITAR rules have been modified

    It's already through IIRC. Google is your friend.
    There was a 45 day time line before it came into effect.

    Sporting firearms and accessories like scopes were moved under the purview of the the Department of Trade like normal export goods.
