Re: Best Gunshop in Cape Town/Cape Winelands Area
Being relatively new to the fraternity, I recently discovered Wildman's, across the road from Cape Gate, Okavango offramp-N1, Brakenfell. (By the Tekkie Town shop, at the bottom of their centre- can't recall the name of the complex offhand.)
It was like was walking into CUM, but on steroids bru!
And no BS. (Read- [no shitty plastic 'must-have' PRC travel gadgets.])
Not sure how the prices compare, haven't really done the homework, but when I found the coffee machine, and couches for the missus, (think I saw a TV, but my eyes had glazed over long before this time), and a play-table with colouring-in bits for my daughter, I knew I'd be returning once I'd saved up.
[Fo'sho'.]
Also try Parow Arms, (smaller but stashed and willing to order, or point you in the right direction), or, if you're willing to drive that far and kak for parking, City Guns. (Small parking lot right next to them in Hout Street, but go with your Yaris and wide-turn left if you'd like to try and get in!!)
There's AJ Running Guns in Paarden Eiland, but they're very small. Phone and ask before you drive for anything. Friendly and helpful, but limited. (Didn't see any rifles bar the kitted-up sporting types there though...) If things are quiet they also lock up and head for the range, or so they told me.
S&O Stellenbosch- haven't been there, but they were excellent with telephonic and internet help when I bought my wife her rifle.
Haven't been to VGK yet, so no comment.
Also found Cape Guns and Ammo, Stikland, but not yet visited, so again, no comment.
Hope it helps!

Best Gunshop in Cape Town/Cape Winelands Area
That is one of the nice things about Safari. You can buy a FA on their 6 pay system and pay it off over 6 months with no interest. 20% Deposit then the balance over the remaining 6 months. That way you do not have to pay back interest on your credit card. You can settle the account anytime so you do not have to pay it over the full 6 months if you do not want or need to.

Re: Best Gunshop in Cape Town/Cape Winelands Area
I've been to VGK once, great staff. Had time for a natter in spite of me not looking like a well-heeled customer. Will definitely be back again. Got an eye on something there.
It helps that it's in a fairly safe location, not that it's the fault of a firearms business that the location becomes unsafe over the years. Many good one's have closed their doors.

Re: Best Gunshop in Cape Town/Cape Winelands Area
Popped by a WC S&O this weekend.
Got a good variety, but I thought they were a bit more expensive than Wildman.
I also considered, after comparing the relative floor space, Wildman had more shooting stuff.
Nothing scientific, I just thought Wildman had more 'stuff' to see, although S&O appeared to have more FA variety.
