How did you find out about IDPA/SADPA

For me I think it was Huntex 2013 (maybe 2014?). They still had a range running at the show at the time and Lynette basically had the idea of IDPA sold to me in no time.

I was looking for a shooting discipline where I could use EDC gear. Searched google and found IDPA.

I wanted to do sport shooting. Googled a bit and found the two main ones here in South Africa.
I went with IDPA because my EDC gear can be used in it. A friend who shoots it introduced me to IDPA and I'm hooked ever since.

I feel that IDPA is perceived as more noob friendly and most guys getting handguns are for SD. This leads to IDPA getting more new guys in as it directly relates to what they want to do with their firearm

Also initially on GS. Then was invited by a friend to a shoot. Didn't even know it was IDPA/SADPA. But after the first match was hooked.

So... at least two folk (on THIS THREAD) got hooked through Huntex...

Pity SADPA is no longer interested in Huntex as a marketing tool ;-{>}

Mr T, If you are doing this for market research, would you at one point like to know why people may have chosen IPSC over IDPA as well? I know that once a comparison is made, a thread goes south quite quickly, so don't want to stir here ;)
