Re: Larry Vickers - Gunfighter moment - 9mmP
I don't agree with the oke. Why is that trolling?
I honestly believe that the 9mmP is a poor choice.
Is it cheaper - yes
Is it readily avail - yes
Is it easier to shoot - yes
would I carry 9mmP - no.
If you can afford to reload for 9mmP as most comp shooters do here on GS, you should be able to afford to reload in just about any handgun caliber. It's not an extra grain of powder, and 10cents on a bullet that's gonna break the bank. IMO.

Re: Larry Vickers - Gunfighter moment - 9mmP
This is not relevant for people who buy guns solely for self defence. The vast majority of pistol owners in this country are not sport shooters, and do not reload.
So, again, what good is it if you can't get bullets?
I presume that you have some logical rationale for your viewpoint. I'm sure many here would like to hear it.Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
the glory of the great dead.

Re: Larry Vickers - Gunfighter moment - 9mmP
From what I've read, I dont understand the obsession with a calibre where a 1-2mm bullet setback will blow up your pistol (double in pressure).

Re: Larry Vickers - Gunfighter moment - 9mmP
Even leaving aside the stopping power argument, the tapered 9mm has garnered an excellent reputation for feeding reliability. I am unaware of any tests which suggest that the short stubby 40 comes anywhere close.

Re: Larry Vickers - Gunfighter moment - 9mmP
You have every right to stick to your beliefs.
I also have my beliefs. For example, I believe the earth to be flat, despite the fact that I regularly get lots of flack about it. I feel happy sticking to my belief and get lots of support and encouragement from all of the many other supporters of the flat earth movement around the globe.
I also love my 10mm Auto and 45ACP pistols, and off course my 44 Magnum revolvers. (Now that should put the smile back on uncle Clint's face.)
Despite all the shortcomings of the 9mmP cartridge, and I could list a few of them, if you look inside my belt right now, you might find a 9mmP pistol there. (But that area is of course not open to public viewing.)
