    Default Becoming a Moderator ?

    Good Morning GunSite South Africa.
What does one have to do to become a Moderator ?
What are the qualifications, personal aspects and experience needed to carry out this function ?
Is there an age/gender/nationality restriction and who gets to decide who can become/remain a Moderator ?
    By the way 'great site'...Thanks.
    Regards.
    Keith.

    Be paid GS member
Shoot and own pistols, shotguns and SLRs
Be able to qualify for at least Expert in IDPA and uber squad at IPSC nationals
Finish 2 bottles of single malt in one sitting
Have seduced at least 36 women with your charms

    OR

    Have a LLB

Seriously the owners of Gunsite decide. It is mostly people from the industry, shooting fraternity or legal skills who been around in the shooting world for very long and helped out a lot to grow Gunsite at the start or helped out a lot along the way and was given the power of the banhammer

Not sure about Gunsite, but in general on other websites you have to have joined close to the beginning of when the forum was made, be online often and be on good terms with the owner and other moderators.

No one usually "applies" to be a moderator, one is usually approached by the boss or head moderator saying "Hey, we're getting a lot of members and having to manage a lot of spammers recently. I see you're online often and contribute a lot. Would you like to become a moderator and help us out ?".

Actually it's very easy. You supply the admins and other mods with single malt and access to strippers.

But is that a prerequisite, or a result?
