Re: Pet friendly outdoor intrusion detection
You get a perimeter cable that you bury in the ground. If I can remember it works on vibration. The big petroleum companies use them between their two fences of protection. It can even pinpoint movement on your perimeter with in 5 meters.
For the life of me I can't remember the name but googlefoo will bring you closer.

Re: Pet friendly outdoor intrusion detection
No hip height issue or else it would be no more effective than dual beam sensor, which is a third of the price.
It is a PIR sensor, so there is a dead spot directly beneath it (no different to an indoor passive).
It's a 90° pattern, so I have mine side by side on 45 degree mounts and it solves the issue.
