Re: 270 Win vs 300 WM
Get a 6,5x55. Do with 100gr better than 243 with 90gr. No donuts or presure. No problems.

Re: 270 Win vs 300 WM
KV, I own a 270 and now a 300 WSM as well.
I was in the same predicament and decided to go to a 300, I have absolutely no regrets.
I won't need anything bigger than my 300 with what I hunt, until I (maybe) need a 375.
Something like a 223/243 one day whem my lighty is bigger to fill the gap between the .22 and 270 will be in order.
I must just add, and I know what the numbers and stats say, but I really can't feel a difference in recoil between my 270 and 300 (which was a concern for me).

Re: 270 Win vs 300 WM
I've never shot a .300 WSM but I can tell a big difference in recoil between a .270 and a .300 WinMag.

Re: 270 Win vs 300 WM
.270 would work but for that choice of either one I would consider how often I hunted the larger species.
If you mainly hunt blesbuck class game and occasionally take a gemsbok or BWB (one a year for example) then the .270 is great choice IMO. If you regularly shoot the larger antelope species then the .300WM might be better.
Get both? Get a 7mm RM which will somewhat split the difference.
