Don't the Navy SEALs load capacity -3? For the reason of reliability?
I downgrade all mags by 1.

Key points, you can read more about some of the points from the post linked above.
1.) Baby them. Treat your magazines as gently as you can within the realm of realistic training.
2.) On tough to seat mags, download at least 1 round. If a fully loaded mag is difficult to seat with the slide or bolt assembly in battery then download the mag by at least 1 round as a matter of habit. USGI aluminum M16 magazines are a good example of this as they are really only properly designed to take 28 rounds, not 30 as advertised. Glock pistol mags as a general rule should always be downloaded 1 round as a fully loaded mag is difficult to seat with the slide forward.
3.) Leave loaded only when necessary and rotate with fresh magazines monthly. This will increase the longevity of your magazines.
4.) Attempt to keep them clean particularly in sandy and salt water environments. Do not oil the magazine internals as this tends to attract debris.
5.) Use OEM mags as a general rule.
6.) They require periodic replacement.

The phenomenon you are referring to (springs loosing their shape by being compressed over time) is referred to as creep or relaxation.
However if by long time you are referring to hundreds of years or your magazines are exposed to extreme temperatures (say 800 plus degrees) then you need to bother with spring creep.

"On tough to seat mags, download at least 1 round"
that doesnt mean ALL mags, just mags that can barely fit full capacity.

I have 4 mags in total, i'm using a P07 Gen 1 and Gen 2 mag at a time. I rotate the set every other month.
The Gen2 mag has my SD Ammo (15 rounds) and my Gen1 is my spare with also (15), currently my spare mag is filled with FMJ rounds.

I genuinely didn't know this was an actual thing...
Seems I'm already doing it with 15 rounds in my 16round P07 mags

Is there any harm in loading mag to full capacity and having 1 in the chamber?
