Thanx for your reply. It's fired 1064 rounds (yes, I keep a record LOL). I've used my own reloads, Diplopoint reloads, military 5.56 rounds and none of them had any issues.

Thanx for your reply. The rifle is chambered for .223 and not 5.56. I've used my own reloads, Diplopoint reloads, military 5.56, without any issues.

Thanx for your reply Pirate. No, I've not yet reloaded the "faulty" PMP brass.

Thanx for your reply Armed Preacher. There is indeed a second round, fed from the mag, jammed against the case in the chamber.

Reaming the chamber ever so slightly changes the headspace.
It's a major job if you take off the barrel extension, ream & set new headspace so that the barrel extension orientation is kept in the same orientation regarding the gas port.

Would be interesting to know which gunsmith would accept such a difficult job.

Easier in a bolt gun to ream & set headspace.

Does anyone on this forum know what length gas system is used on an 18 inch DM 4?

Do they have rifle and or Mid-length gas systems available on the longer barrels or do those use the carbine gas system?

The change at the shoulder is irrelevant and there is more variation between different makes of .223 reamers, than between 5.56 and .223.
The major difference is in the length and angle of the throat. That has no effect on how the cartridge headspaces.
