Do as per Psychosis.
Or get extra grips and do it.
Do not engrave metal work.
I know its sentimental and at this point there is off course no possible thought you would ever sell it. As your dad bought it for you.
But in years to come you might need to change it for some reason. As situations in life change. Selling then becomes much more difficult with the engraving on metal

I like Psychosis' solution re the grip panels. Are "any" mods to grip panels (and weight-compliant aftermarket panels allowed)? Now, philosophically, how is modding a grip panel different to modding (say, stippling) a removable OEM grip insert? My understanding is that the latter would also not be Production compliant?
