Dedicated status ammo question
Hey Guys
Sorry this might be flogging a dead horse but I seriously can't find the correct answer.
I have dedicated status through my club (NHSA). I own 2 firearms a S13 and a S15.
I understand that according to the act if you have an S16 .223 and a S13 9mm you are allowed unlimited ammo for both the .223 and the 9mm.
However does this exemption from the 200 rounds rule apply to only those that have a S16 licence or for any dedicated persons. In other words can I have unlimited ammo for both my S13 and S15 regardless of the fact that I actually do not have a S16 licence only dedicated status from my club.

Re: Dedicated status ammo question
Dedicated status is awarded to the person not the license..So if you have dedicated status the ammo restriction does not apply to you. Regardless of what sec license you possess.

Re: Dedicated status ammo question
Remington is correct.
You do not need a S16 license before you may have more than 200 rounds for any licensed firearm in your possession, irrespective of what section it's licensed under.
The onus is now on you to maintain your status.

Re: Dedicated status ammo question
Today when I went to go buy 9mm ammo I asked if I can buy more than 200 rounds of .22lr if it is a section 15 FA when I have a dedicated status and a section 16 9mm. I got told I can't and it applies to the license.
how could I convince the shop to sell me more than 200 rounds of .22lr and prove dedicated status applies to the person and not the license?
Or would it be best just to buy somewhere else?

Re: Dedicated status ammo question
Buy from a better shop. And take along your dedicated status letter from your association.

Re: Dedicated status ammo question
Find a gun shop which does not have it's own messed-up interpretation of the law.

It is how you interpret the law. Has it been tested in court? I think you might be in for a suprise.

Why are you telling us about your Bieber fever, Engel?
I mean that's not what your comment says, but that's how I interpret it..
