There is another path. What about SAP540 to possess more than 200rds? If all is so cut and dried, what is the purpose of this form? Is it merely for those who don't have DSS? I would rather complete this for my s15 firearms and then I know there is no doubt.

But there already is no doubt. The act is very very clear.

Many who applied for that never heard back. Some already had DSS by the time it was approved/denied anyway.

The act remains clear in it's requirements to apply for a S16 licence, and it's requirements to not be subject to that ammo limit: be a dedicated sport shooter

The purpose of this form is to allow people who do not have DSS a process
with which to possess more than 200 rounds per licence.
    Sent electronically, thus not signed.

    This.
My DFO refuses to take these forms, as he says - just get a dedicted status..because then it is for all your licenses.

    Mine did the same.
I wanted to shoot steel, so did a form and handed it in, He accepted and informed me it was silly and to join natshoot it was faster and better in the long run.
My DFO reads the act like I do DSS is for me not my guns
