SAPSA Handgun Nationals, Round 2 - Northern Gauteng
Registrations opened at 10am for the regular plebs
Apparently, they are almost all taken.
Those lucky enough to shoot Open, and lucky enough to make the Super Squad get to shoot with Chris Tilley.

Re: SAPSA Handgun Nationals, Round 2 - Northern Gauteng
I had this discussion today about the R1000 fee. I think it is very expensive as most guys battle to buy all the primers , powder and heads to load. So has it become a money making thing or development of the sport? Now its sponsors, fees, food etc and someone is pocketing 200k for the event. Not to shabby I would say. And please dont tell me you dont make money!

Re: SAPSA Handgun Nationals, Round 2 - Northern Gauteng
If there are enough people willing and able to support the asking price it is a good indication of the growing health of the sport. It's like the hunting debate. If there is money to be made the game gets to stay else they need to make space for something that pays for itself.
If organizers can pocket R200k for an event and it is well supported, it will mean that more organizers will want to get in on the action. Thus organizing more events with better prizes to get more feet through. This makes the sport more visible and if we can have shooting competitions with R100k plus in prizes more people will want to start shooting. For me that's a big win.
Sure not everyone will be able to afford everything, but that's life.

My post had sweet FA to do with the cost of entry to the match.
Tongue in cheek post about Vega goingg.on training with Chris Tilley (which is frikkin awesome and worth every cent).
Please take your political BS elsewhere, or raise the issue of the match fee with SAPSA via your province.
