Re: 6.5-284 anyone had any exp with this cal
I know a guy in our club shooting bisley "F-Int" class with this calibre. I had a few shots with it myself and it's very accurate on the 900m. The big advantage is the bullet speed you can achieve, thus less scope adjustment for wind, but your barrel does take a lot of punishment because of your bullet diameter and the amount of powder burnt ratio, especially if you're a regular shooter.

A very popular calibre with the F class shooters, but then I know a F class shooter who replaces his barrel yearly to keep up with the rest, accuracy wise.

Re: 6.5-284 anyone had any exp with this cal
Hi Hunter
Please see the following links for more info on the 6.5/284, there are overseas links as I do not think many people have experience with this calibre in SA. I am also interested in building a rifle in this cal, it seems to have all the right stuff. Depending on your intended use (hunting, target, benchrest etc) you can also look at the 260Rem or 284Rem. There are many websites out there where you can learn about specific cartridges you are interested in.
