Not many, and for good reason. It's just not ideal for SA, but it is better than carrying nothing.
I got my Taurus 38 Spl snubby last year and carried it for 5 months or so, until I got my Glock 26.
A snubbie is so much easier to carry than even the subcompact G26. The dimensions somehow make it so comfortable.
A pistol is more comforting though, but not one of those little 6+1 9mm short pistols.
If you do get a pistol, the minimum should be something like a 7+1 M&P Shield 9mmP.
A single stack 9mmP like the Shield would probably conceal easier than a snubby because the slide is much thinner.
It's a real shame we don't live in the US, the Shield over there is just over R3500 including sales tax, and after mail in-rebate.
Here it's R10k. Price differences like this, make it difficult for people in SA to carry more suitable guns.

I do on the odd occasion carry a Taurus 85, IWB is for me the only way to go. Check out one of the Kydex guys.
