I handed in 39kgs of cleaned meat for droëwors, ie no bones and very little sinew.

You got ripped off. Try Jandre's Neat Meats. I paid that amount for double the amount of meat. Good quality butcher.

I just took a BWB and a BlessBuck for biltong and dry Wors. I paid R24.34 P/KG.
See the calculation they used for Quantities This was only for the BWB. I also feel ripped off!

I found a butcher (lady) less than 5km from my house that has a butchery at home. She charges us R5/kg for labour. Then charges for spice, brisket etc that was added.
She's also willing to vacuum pack the wet bilton and meat as well.
And what makes it even better is that we can drop the carcasses off on Sundays.

You can expect to pay anywhere in the region of about R20/kg these days. Pretty much works out to almost the same price as you pay for the animal itself. Scary...

I've processed my own meat the last 3 years, and I can tell you, it's a lot of work, but I look at it as part of the hunting trip. We cut all the biltong and mince cubes on the farm, then mince at home. Between myself and a buddy we bought a semi-industrial mincer and a big sausage filler. Definitely worth it in the long run.

Picked up processed meat last week.
Worked out to a total of just over R4000 for 4 x impala(1 x ram and 3 x ewe) 2 x kudu (small bull can't remember weight and big cow of 104kg).
This includes labour, spices and brisket.
Made sosati's in marinade, smoked cheese wors, biltong and drywors.

Start a club, 5 of us got together and bought everything. Then all you do is pay for the consumables. if someone wants to leave then we either buy them out of they find a buyer. best is we all help each other process, that just costs a few beers and you end up with quite a social event.

ive got a hunt coming up shortly and wanted to know if anyone has any updated pricing information for 2018 season ?
hunting venue offers R25/kg for biltong and droewors processing at a 50/50 split, apart from the hunting venue, im also considering the wildshoekkie vleismark as per recommendations from threads.

if anyone has other new suggested butchers in centurion/midrand/edenvale area, then please share.
