You guys put it into perspective....rather have something decent for the wife that will work and can be kep working than having something happen at home and relying on something that might not het the job done.

As for the gun being to heavy for your wife. I think you may just be underestimating your wife. There was a 13yo girl shooting IDPA Northern nationals this past weekend shooting a full sized 9mm. Smaller is not always better. Larger pistols in 9mm have less felt recoil and are much easier to shoot.

Ive been around firearms my entire life and shot countless rounds but the previous statement is true. Whilst i can shoot a pistol doesnt mean i am proficiant with it.
I am planning to join a club as soon as i get my cz.
Without opening another thread. What would you suggest i get my wife?

A Glock 19 or a CZ PO7.

Something small modern and in 9mm.

Something she can carry easily without too much complaint.

I'd say a G26 but she needs to be there with you for her to make her own decision.

+ 1 this , she needs to be there and actually hold the firearm and get a feel for it
Its preferable for her to even shoot a few handguns at the range
