Muzzle brakes - are the legal in SADPA DMG?
Hi all. I am very keen on the muzzle brake serenity is selling.

Is this device legal in DMG? I intend to shoot ESG.
All I can find in the rule book is "no compensator with a diameter more than 1 inch". Is anyone familuar with the 3% engineering brake?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Muzzle brakes - are the legal in SADPA DMG?
You can use it for DMG as long as it is not more than 1 inch in diameter. Lots of shooters have them and swear by them (Comps) , but before you drop the cash on one perhaps try to shoot a comp'ed rifle while standing close to a barricade. Comps direct a lot of blast to the sides, barricades direct blast back to the shooter... You'll quickly know if its for you or not. If your not bothered by the blast go for it. On longer rifles (16 inch & up) compensators are less obnoxious, but on the short barrels (under 14 inches) they are very blasty. If you are the SO you get more of the unpleasantness than the shooter. If your rifle does double duty as a home defence gun a regular flash hider would be better. You will not have the luxury of hearing protection in an emergency. If it is only for sport a comp is a worthwhile upgrade.
