    Default DM 4 general ebquiry

    Good day

its fryday and payday. My question is..

Has The DM4 issues with its buffer tubes and failure to extract been sorted.

I was at a shooting day and a DM4 was on "show" and it seemed to have continious failure to extract etc.

    How does the DM4 measure up with S&W MP15 sport2 and RugerAr556?

It seems a good rifle and maybe worth the buy?

What issues are/were there with buffer tubes?

I replaced the buffer tube assembly with a mil spec set on my DM4.
Even with the standard set I didnt get any issues mentioned above.
Maybe a good stripdown and clean into the bolt assembly/extractor may help?
I know the extractor gets gunked up after a while.

I've used them with a relatively good assortment of budget Ammo and various reloads without any problems, Accuracy is on par with most M4 type Carbine's. A fellow club member has one and he shoots on 1" @ 100m with his scoped version with PMP brown box Ammo.
I think too many guys put too much into their brand of AR and too little into Ammo and practice with a brand they can afford to purchase and shoot regularly, buy what you can comfortably afford and shoot it lots - you'll be the envy of the guys with 'better' brand Guns who can't use them nearly as well as

I have the 14.5 inch model. I feel its overgassed and the chamber is cut on the tight side of 223, so dont even consider touching 5.56 spec ammo.

Ive had failures to extract barnaul 55gr also surplus tracer where the bullet was locking into the rifling. So after a stage of shooting i sometimes have to mortar the gun to clear it. I've also had my extractor partially tear the rim off a barnaul case and then it proceed to get stuck in the chamber. Paul helped me with a brownells extractor upgrade kit after that it seems to be working.

With pmp ammo it seems to run very well also american eagle seems ok.

If i could do it again and the M&P sport 2 was basically the same price i would get that rather, honestly.

My mates DM4, one of the very first sold, has over 4000 round count with no issues.
    Eats everything it is fed.

Depending on the price, I'd either spend the bit extra on the S&W or save a bit more by buying a Norinco CQA.
