Dunno if this helps, but when I was looking at options for an "alternative" .303 stock I was told that the butt part is the same for all models of LE/303, only the forearm differs. As far as I could tell from the permutations I tried it seems that this is indeed the case. You could go with using a replacement butt and keep the existing wooden forearm if you're not bothered by having different materials, could even paint the forearm black to match colour of plastic butt. If I remember correctly the ATI butt is available as a standalone without the forearm.

The latest Magnum magazine (November 2019) has an article on building a Scout rifle using a .303

Has anyone tried any of these?

    Or any other suggestions ?
The Indian guns were built on the No1Mk111 action IIRC. So you will be looking at a No1 fore end. I also believe the butt to be the same on both types.

A friend has the Armtech thumb-hole stock on his SMLE. It is very well made and handles well. Bit pricey though. I hate it to spend more on a stock than what the rifle is worth. They make a normaly shaped stock too.

I have a Smoking Guns stock on my 416Rem build. Finished well and handles good.
