Remember Musgrave building a 7-08 20 or 30 yrs back. Was on the front cover.Think it was an RSA action and bull barrel. So not new in SA.

    No problem Brenneke
The reamer and gauges is still at the gunsmith but is my property.
Just waiting for my card from CFR, the paperwork alone was almost 2 years.
If I didn't have the action and stock I would have never gone this route, but decided to build something that I would enjoy and fits my shooting style.

I had a look at the HOWA site in Japan

    http://www.howa.co.jp/en/products/firer/

They indicate ONE importer for SA --

    https://aosports.co.za/

Who -- if I understand correctly does not speak to the end-user ?
I have no idea how the rifles and what specific calibres are chosen for import ?

Different RETAIL shops do have different options -- so far I have not been able to locate anyone selling a 7-08 ? ( although this is available in the US and other countries )
There are MANY options available if one looks at the Legacy Sports International website in the US ( Fuller Group International )

    OK

I have now discovered that ZASTAVA ( Serbian factory ) produce a 7mm-08
The Humansdorp Co-Op ( very interesting shop that ) stock this rifle

    http://firearms.humkoop.co.za/product/zastava-m70-7mm-08-dat-mk

    Based on a Mauser action

What's more they also manufacture a left handed version

    What's not too like ?

Thank you to all those sad and miserable posters that had such negative things to say -- I was forced to go and dig deeper and research more

    Aanhouer WEN !

Some of us are not so fortunate as to be able to walk into a gun store and just pick a rifle ( any rifle ) off the shelf and pay the inflated prices
Especially if we need a LEFT hand action !
When I purchased my BRAND NEW SAKO 222 from Kings in Durban it was R150.00 -- IF I remember correctly ( US$ was one to one )
Sold it in SWA -- probably still going strong there
Gives you an idea of how much we have been ROBBED !

Sometimes one needs to go a few steps back in order to go forward again .......
Especially in this G D forsaken country where ones options are so limited -- never mind the stupid and limiting legal madness !

The custom build and all the rest of the good stuff will still come -- all in good time.
