Re: 7mm-08 Remington
I know you've dissed this already Brenneke but it bears repeating. A number of forum regulars, some of them with extensive experience gained the hard way, has made recommendations to you but you seem to be doing the equivalent to plugging your ears and saying "na-na-na I can't hear you".
You're going to get burnt chasing this cheap custom rifle in some exotic calibre. Your analogy to vehicles is a false one in that there are no custom vehicle makers that build unique once-off veihcles to customer requirements on the cheap. You have to spend the equivalent of 4 expensive German sedans before you even start to enter exclusive territory.
We've been warning you that rifles are the same. If you were even a bit experienced, you wouldn't have asked the questions you did. Someone who is not experienced shouldn't jump straight to exotics in wildcat calibres. Buy your Howa (or Toyota if you please), CZ (VW?), Savage (GM?), Sako (Volvo?), Tikka, Ruger, Winchester, Browning, whatever and equip it with some good optics. There is room enough between these makes and an accompanying scope to be unique enough. You'll have money left over at the end of the day to buy reloading kit. It is ironic that one poster recommended the 7x64 to you. The 7x64's full calibre name is "7x64 Brenneke".
If you still can't get this, you scream confirmation bias or troll, neither of which makes for a good forum member.

Not sure what you are on about but generally all outfitting companies within frontier country offer at least one day of cultural tours whether it be in Grahamstown ( the Albany and 1820 museums, one of which hosts the record gemsbok horns btw) or the surrounding forts and battle sites. Its part of their marketing campaign and what sets the area aside from the rest of the country.Following your other post you are looking for unobtaium on a budget-oxymoron much? That or you are now trolling. Either way il leave my time for those open to learning.

7mm-08 Remington
Brenneke
I mentioned my rifle project in your other thread.
I went with the 7mm08AI for three reasons
1. I had a Sako 85 short action
2. Wanted a 7mm caliber to shoot the 160-168gr bullets at 2750fps ish velocity that performs efficiently with Somchem powder(S365)
3. Wanted a wildcat for the itch that I can't explain and the pleasure of reloading something that is not standard.
I do a lot of long range shooting and the 7mm-08AI outperforms the 308 on longer ranges. It is more in the class of the 30-06.

Re: 7mm-08 Remington
Yes I bought a blank ,7mm magnum sporter profile Krieger barrel and imported a 7mm08AI reamer with "go" and "no-go" gauges from PT&G.

Re: 7mm-08 Remington
I am not sure that a 7mm-08 is an "exotic" calibre ? neither is a HOWA
I do understand that people get upset when you have alternative viewpoints and approaches and especially when you will not bow to their superior knowledge -- it tends to upset their Equanimity
I am the one that will purchase the rifle -- I will surely NOT blame anyone else if it is a shipwreck !
Relax and look out the window ....
