Default And so it begins, PART 2

So after spending countless hours, I have bitten the bullet (pun might be intended ) and I signed the Missus and myself up for Handgun competency training

I know everyone recommends doing all the relevant competencies at once, but at least we both doing the competency for handgun, which is priority on my list. As mentioned previously, we have been invited to shoot on a farm, so planning for us both to do Rifle and Shotgun shortly.

It's a bit more than I anticipated, but it looks like a large majority of it is common sense.

I'm not sure of the etiquette for saying what range we are using for training, but it's in Pretoria and not far from home and the training hours suit our schedules for both of us to train together. This was one of the deciding points for me, there was a range that was a bit cheaper, but the distance and training times would not allow us to hit the range together.

I have skimmed through the books and I enjoy the pictures very much
The one guy drinking from TWO bottles of booze while pointing a firearm is the best lol!

I've ordered some PPE for us today from a dealer I believe is involved on this forum.
2 pairs of ear muffs and eye protection that takes RX inserts, because we both have prescription glasses.

I'm also not a fan of sharing anything with ears , call me insane but I find it a bit mif lol, especially ear muffs that who knows how many people have worn.

Probably the best service I have gotten from an online store.

So I handed in my open books and I have passed !
I have booked to do my competency this Wednesday coming and will go straight afterwards to apply for SAPS competency.

Much easier than I thought but I guess Wednesday will confirm if I really know

Well done on taking the first steps on the road to the ultimate addiction. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait for the competency. But as they say good things come to those who wait.

Training done and competency handed at SAPS.

Now I wait and hope for the best.

Now torn between a glock 19 and a cz p07. I did see a olive green glock today that was really neat. If I go glock, I want this!
