    Howdy, my 2c.

    Cold steel Urban Pal.

You already have utility knives. Thus do not need more. You now need a retention/CQC blade that does not require any immediate training.

    Enter my suggestion.

    Good luck.

Another thought: have you considered a small Victorinox vegetable knife? Very slick, easy to hide, hard to detect with a good steel blade.
A fan of Ed hey :)

Here's a question: what is the maximum length blade one may carry without getting hassled by the cops? I made something I'd be happy to carry but know almost instinctively that Plod will have more than a bit to say about it.

Lastly: have you done some research on the type of knife you want? There are dedicated fighting knives like the karambit or TDI, but you could also look at a classic shape like a boot knife, roach belly, bowie or similar.
    I know a guy ;)

Seriously one of the men in our veterans group has made some absolutely stunning blades with equally amazing kydex sheaths. His EDC model along with sheath was running about R 800 reading all of this reminded me that I need to get over there and get one.

Look up Edward Louis Pretorius (Ed) he's got pics of another knife up on FB but says he is busy with some of his EDCs at present. Hopefully he'll get some pics up shortly.

Edit: Hope I'm not violating any forum rules with this. I've got no economic interest here just supporting a low volume maker with some sweet knife designs.
