My new Ammo
Howzit guys.
Ive been carrying Rangers 127 +P+ in my SD9VE for about two years now and decided to renew my ammo.
I went to Safari and Outdoor on Friday and they never had any Rangers in stock. The guy who was very helpful introduced me to Federal Premium Hydra Shok Luger 124 grain.
I like to change my rounds very two years and was hoping to get Rangers again. But the guy at SO sold me on this.
What are your guys thoughts on this ammo, or did i buy sh1t?

Personally, I don't like the Hydra Shok. Would rather go for the Federal HST's. Much better design.
For a review, look here:

Re: My new Ammo
First off. Did you actually get a sales person to assist you at SO? To me that is a myth.
Well. Its like walking into a Toyota dealership.
And the guy sell you on the benefits of a Hilux over a Ford Ranger.
Salesman will sell you what they have in stock. Will not be a good salesman if he tells you something else they dont have is better.
And directs you to competition store.
I saw some Rangers at Rosenthal.
Not sure the weight.

Not the best
Source Federal HSTs or Rangers or Critical Duty

Re: My new Ammo
Shit, that disappointing to hear. I really thought SO will give good advise, especially if they selling something that is meant to protect life.
Anyway, will rather not go back if that is the case.
So your thoughts? Should i replace, or should i carry what i just bought?

Re: My new Ammo
Best is always google. And speak to others.
Usually you get better advise then from sales person. Not saying they are all bad.
But their function is to sell what is in the shop to make money. So what they have will always be the best according to them.
If they work in your handgun. Then carry them.
I use Critical Defense from Hornady in my 9mmP.
Possibly there are even better options then the Hornady's. But I'm a Hornady fan.
So I stick to the brand and trust their products.
