Mistake on a License
Hi guys. Anyone have problema with the wrong rifle name on a license card? For instance. .38 spl S&W instead of .38 spl Rossi which it actually is? If the serial number is correct can you still use it?

Re: Mistake on a License
S&W designed the .38 hence its called 38 special smith and wesson.
Does it say S&W in the make section of the license?

Re: Mistake on a License
.38 Special and .38 S&W are two different Calibers.

Re: Mistake on a License
Well I have just had this happen twice in the last few months.
First I receive a license for a "Norinco" .44 magnum revolver....the firearms is in fact a Ruger Super Blackhawk.
Second is the license I just received (after going on appeal and also going to great lenths to point out the error on the refusal letter to the appeal board) for a "Norinco" FAL 7.62x51.
Seems to me like CFR have "Norinco" on the brain!
Weird thing is that for both of these the details were correctly stated on the SAP 271 and captured by the DFO. Previous owner licenses had correct details as well. Seems to me like CFR randomly inserting or changing names!
Now I apparently need to submit a correction and/or gunsmith reports etc....you can only imagine how keen I am to do this.
What would you okes suggest I do?....at least the serial numbers are correct...sigh.

I would also like to know. If I have to submit a change request. Can I keep the license untill I receive a new one?
