The Lee pot is 500w , so wonder if this 1300w cooker will work.

I think the thermostat will be the problem.
As the Lee one will allow it to get high heat.
I think the Cooker thermostat will be set not to reach that high. As it was made for cooking.

Also not sure how the Allu will keep up.
The lee pots ave a cast iron type pot inside that holds the lead.

I have an old aluminium pressure cooker pot that I use to melt lead on the fire that gets crazy hot. So if I can perhaps say replace this cooker element with say a 2000w element and another thermostat it should work? Donno.

Aluminum dissolves in lead, slowly but it does. Use steel

Perhaps one can get a cooker from steel. Will see

You can use the aluminium a few times, but eventualy it will fail. Just make sure to have it on a surface that won't catch fire if the lead drops through the bottom.

I would not use an aluminium pot for melting lead. The melting point of aluminium is not that far above that of lead, it might just get soggy before you have scooped off all the gunk from the surface. Imagine a few kg of molten lead splashing everywhere when that happens.

Use steel. Mild steel, stainless, cast iron even, are all much more tolerant of the temperatures reached when casting.

For cleaning and alloying lead, I prefer a fairly deep pot. A wide shallow pan is not ideal, as you have a much larger surface to gather the dirt, dross, etc. from. You also expose a lager surface to the atmosphere, which promotes oxidisation.
