You are adjusting the point of impact (poi) so if the shot is high you need to move it down, so then move it down (clockwise)
if it is to the right of the target you need to move it left, so the move it left (clockwise)

About as simple as I can put it!

So there was no manual in the box? Or youtube instruction was followed where the guys open box and immediately throw the manual to the side.

    Hi Shooty.
Inherited the rifle, with scope, from my Father in Law.
All manuals etc (unfortunately) long gone.
Regards and Thanks Spudattack...Now I understand

Did you not watch the attached video which explains everything you need (plus some more!)? If not, I suggest that you do so before heading to the range...

    Thanks Krieger and Tayls.
Couldn't download from the first posting for some reason but can now .
Very informative and helpful especially the early part about looking down the barrel.
    His 'creds' are most impressive
I don't think that I'm brave enough though to start taking a screwdriver to the turrets like he does !
I'll just stay with using a 10 cent coin to adjust the scope
Thanks again to you both and regards.
    Keith.

Apologies. I messed that up it should have read anti-clockwise. Apologies for the confusion.

Keith, most important is to know which brand of scope you have.

Not all brands operate the same way.

With most scopes; think of it this way. Your turrets either push or pull the projectile / Bullet depending on which way they are rotated.

Turning the elevation down - pushes the bullet down
Turning the elevation up - pulls the bullet up

    Same for the windage turret

Turn it in - pushes bullet left
Turn it out - pulls the bullet right

So your bullet will move in the same direction as your turret.

Hi Guys. Just to say 'thank you'.
I was at the range yesterday with the CZ Bruno .22LR and Tasco scope.
'Played around' with the turrets as suggested and finally scored a '49' at 100 mtrs with a 'bit of a breeze' blowing.
I am now a 'happy bunny'...until the next time that is !
Thanks again for all the help and advice.
    Regards.
    Keith.

Awesome -- glad to hear it.

49 out of what? If 50, excellent. If 100, not so excellent!
