    Default Truvello Barrel feedback please

    Hi All,

Im planning a build for a long distance rifle using a Truvelo barrel. Can anybody please give me some honest feedback/review on the Truvello barrels. Im getting a lot of mixed reviews/feelings with a google search.

    Hi,

Truvello use the button method to rifle the barrels. I personally would prefer to have the rifling cut.

I will send a PM when I get some time.

Have you looked at Bartlein that Bullet Central stocks.
Seems the top shooters are mostly after these barrels.

Truvelo use very high quality barrels for their high end tactical/sniper ranges. Whether these barrels are the ones you can buy for R6k is another story. I don't know.

I've also read that they only offer down to 1 in 9" twist. This might be a limitation for LR use in some calibers, e.g. .224, .243 and .264 groove sizes.

Saving R4k on a barrel for a top end build does not make much sense.

I would use a Truvelo barrel for a bushveld/hunting rifle, but not a true LR rig.

You are finding mixed reviews ... this should already be telling you something.

Broughton, Bartlein, Krieger ... top tier barrels are available so look no further and rather spend the extra if you are serious about this build.

What action will you be using?

I spoke to my friend at Truvelo, who I asked whether he would.... now he said while you may have mixed reviews, he would certainly go for it. But that's just his personal opinion, and I trust it.
I've seen what LR capabilities their rifles have, it's really amazing.
