I was looking at your post and realised that not a single person commented on your post despite hundreds having read and looked at it despite the17hmr being a very interesting and awesome calibre.
I do not have one but have shot with one several times and loved it so much
There are definitely people on this forum who do have the 17HMR calibre rifle and hence search the forum for 17HMR.
If my memory serves me correctly there was a write-up fro Gê or Gelo from G&G Varminting about his new 17HMR rifle on the Vermin thread.
I feel sad to see there is not many people that actually have this calibre as it is an awesome small rimfire calibre to have and can not just simply be compared to a 22lr.
The 22 magnum's case necked down to become 17HMR has really wicked speed and it is really good for head shot culling at closer distances as used by some farmers.
The only possible deterrent is the high price of the ammo vs normal 22lr.

Im .05 out of commenting. As I have a 22Hornet. And I love shooting it.
Or also called the Gentlemans Varminter.
