Good evening all
I am going to be buying my first handgun for EDC this will also be my first sec13 app. Was wondering if I could email someone my motivation to have a look at it and see if I should add some stuff or take some things out.
Docs I already have
-Id copies
-profecency and statement of results
-competency
-motivation plus supportings docs like crimestats
-copies of other firearm licenses
-pics of safe
-letter of employment
-NHSA member
-will get app once I buy the firearm
Is there anything I'm forgetting ?
thanks.

Re: Motivation letter
Send you motivation to NSA and get them to give you an endorsement ....
Don't know why or who told you that you need a letter of employment... but good luck with that

Re: Motivation letter
I've never added a proof of residence to any of my apps, and not had a problem. In theory with each app the DFO is supposed to do a safe inspection at the address you have listed on the app as your residence, so in theory that is your proof... In theory

"
- The DFO will carry out an inspection of your premises to ascertain that you have met the requirements for a safe." (https://www.saps.gov.za/services/fla...q_applying.php
Correct, but most/ some DFO's will accept photos of the safe (1 with door shut; 1 with door open showing bolts)

Re: Motivation letter
Ive only had 1 Safe inspection ever.
And that was only when the new White cards came in and I had to renew or change over from the green once.
The DFO came to house. Even said had to talk to wife and neighbors.
My wife was home he never talked to her.
Just walked to safe. I opened door. He looked if ti was SABS. That was it.
For the about 10 apps after that day. I just handed in 271. Signed a form they gave me saying I have correct safe and thats it.
It is affidavit paper they give you. So reckon if anything happens and you lied on it. You would have issues.
DFO did tell me once that they have my safe details on hand from first inspection.
Interesting thing is. I use to have in beginning a 3 rifle safe.
I currently have a 10 rifle safe, another 3 rifle safe and a small box freezer size one for ammunition.
