Kershaw speedsafe freefall fell appart on me.
The metal screw holding to trouser clip to the frame of the knife is made of a stronger metal than the frame it screws into.
Not long of being clipped onto your pocket, it will wiggle its housing hole on the frame bigger thus, falling out and not having a clip any more.
The blade had a hair line crack flaw line on it, like an L shape up and to the right of the blade. Not long an became visible to naked eye, not long and a huge square chunk of the blade simply fell off.
Trust me, avoid this particular sharpie.

Send it back. That is not the usual Kershaw standard.
Is it by any chance a fake?

I was actually hoping it was a fake, Kershaw are a good purchase, just not this particular model. It is however at the lower end of their product price range; not to say it fair to depart with ones notes for turd is acceptable.
The action and locking are amazing though. 6 of one . . .

Re: Kershaw speedsafe freefall fell appart on me.
Hi Guys.
Are Kershaw knives still made in Japan (mine, bought in 2005 is stamped made in Japan) or are they now, like most things, nearly all 'made in China' ?
Regards.

Re: Kershaw speedsafe freefall fell appart on me.
I'd say return it. I've been EDCing mine for months now. It is my least babied, most used knife in that short time already. I bought it because of the deep pocket carry clip and the American tanto style blade.
I've used it for gardening, roofing, plumbing, cutting, battoning even, as a screwdriver, as a pry bar, I've punctured metal with it and I've used it in food preparation. It is currently dirty because I used it to hack some plants down just before I left home 10 min ago.
I think it is a great quality knife, especially for the price. I didn't want to have to baby it. My previous knives weren't babied but if I was on the roof cutting expanding foam I'd use a box cutter or Stanley to prevent damaging my pretty little pocket knife. With this one I finally went "fuck it, lets see how long it lasts" and it is still going stong.

I know CDG (Cutlery Distributing Group) are importers of Kershaw knifes.
Maybe give them a quick call and tell them what happened.

Some Kershaws are made in China, not all.
