    Rather save up

You could even get a cz75 2nd hand in decent condition for around R5k

A much better option than a model B

Or get a payment plan and buy properly the first time. A Glock 19 or CZP07

A SD firearm is not something you should skimp on (but obvs if that is all you can afford then thats all you can afford)

The one in the Pic on the first page is a model B, NOT a BM.
I own several Star firearms and must also warn you that the one in my collection will not feed a hollow point bullet. Also, this gun cannot be dry-fired as the firing pin will snap. Reloading for it can be done, but make sure the COL is as close to a military FMJ as you can otherwise you will have feeding issues. It also likes very hot loads, otherwise you will have stovepipe failures.
Good luck finding spares if y ever need it.

I personally think R3500 is a bit much.

I brought my glock 19 on the payment plan from safari and outdoor. It is interest free, 20% deposit and down payment over 6months. I had the cash at hand, but then it allowed me to buy a few other things that I needed. (I am not affiliated with S&O in any way)
down payment was around R1800pm, because one has to take their motivation for the FA license.
