    Default Praise be to CFR!!!

CFR is often criticized and correctly so.

However one must also give credit where credit is due.

Last Monday I applied for a renewal of a pistol under section 13 for self defence. My DFO (who is fantastic btw) took the application to CFR the following Thursday. Friday morning I received an sms from CFR that my licence was approved. Today (i.e. one week from last Thursday) I got a call from my DFO to collect my printed licence card.

Is this some kind of record or an aberration? Hopefully it is a sign of things to come and that CFR has jacked up its operations.

Alas I am not holding my breathe...but still, credit where it is due.

It's an aberration. That being said my recent renewal was done and had the card in my hand within a month. I still dislike them intently.

There was a recent NHSA newsletter where it was stated that renewals will be done at provincial level, not national. Maybe that is why it went quicker. I'll search for the newsletter tomorrow and link it in here.

Very good GK21. I had a similar experience.

    Congrats GK21!

I too have an awesome DFO and didn't quite know how to make his above and beyond service known...so I sent a letter to the station commander and provincial head to sing his praises.

I do think it's really important to give credit where it's due....this, I have found, then also allows you to complain when necessary and find yourself heard when you need!

Real Glad for you man but I cannot share your sentiment.
My competency (not even license) is still outstanding, more than 70 working days already. At this stage I have no credit to give the CFR or his collogues.

Gerhard Competency does take much longer than Licenses the avg i have seen is around 6 months for a Comp and the 3 months for the license

Lately things are moving better then before my Comp & Gun app took 5 months, i am just waiting for my card which will be this week hopefully.

From person to person it's not the same but over all things are faster.

    Regards
