Default Rifle scope with Scope Tube of not less than 200cm

Afternoon all, looking for some help and suggestions please?

I am restoring a new Steinbach .243 rifle with original Claw Scope mounts.

We are rebuilding the scope mounts and has discovered that the bases dictates that I need a scope with the scope tube of not less than 200mm.

Some advice please? Which scope brand would meet this requirement?

    Thanks,

    Alwyn

I'd wager that an older steel-tubed 4x like a Weaver would probably work?

My first thought was that a 4 x 32 fixed power that was popular thirty years ago would be your best bet. Each increase in objective diameter reduces tube length and the adjusting ring on variables takes up some useful space. But I just measured an old 4 x 32 that's been lying around for years and the tube is only 150mm. I suspect that your old mounts might be intended for a scope whose tube is one inch diameter the whole length except the eyepiece, like the modern Leupold 1.5 - 5 x 32.

How long is a Vortex Strike Eagle 1>6 or 8 *24, would it not fit?

Are you looking for a modern scope or a period correct scope?
