    Default Clearing agent required !!!!

Good afternoon all, does anyone perhaps have contact details for a clearing agent in Cape Town?

I have 3 pistol magazines stuck at the Cape Mail Hub, they require a clearing agent and a ITAC permit. I just recently obtained the ITAC permit (took almost 3 weeks to be issued), now I'm looking for a clearing agent who'll not be charging an arm and a leg for items whose value is just under R1000.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA

Guy I'm busy using is charging me R400, on a R1300 part, which my friend brought in 2 weeks ago without this issue. Grrr. Still, couldn't find it locally.

Silly question; what do clearing agents do, exactly?

Best explanation I could get was ask SARS Customs to go look at your package. Formally.

So basically you pay them to get SARS to do what they get a salary for? A friend recently forked out several thousand Rands on a clearing agent, I suspect he will go ballistic if he hears this.

It's like your own personal tax consultant. For a fee, you give him all your paperwork, and he sorts out the stuff for you.

Clearing agent basically does the tax calculations and determines the amount SARS has to receive, on their behalf. Because you know.... doing your own prescribed job is difficult, and you only need a 7% to pass maths today.

    So true. Very sad.
