Thank you, we need all the feedback we can get to improve the event (and the sport as a whole) where we can, Skaaphaas.

I remember a few discussions on GS about that very thing. It's a pity that we still have primadonnas and a-holes in the sport, but such is life. It's always a challenge to do the squadding and the RO and squad you end up with is very much the luck of the draw. It would have been nice to see the RO take control over the situation and also be more accommodating towards newbies right from the word go, but I'm glad to hear that they did improve and you enjoyed it in the end. I spent most of the day with pblaauw and friends and I must say in our squad the patrolling of the brass part went much better than what you have experienced. In our squad we also arranged the shooters by competitor number and we also ended up throwing pblaauw in the deep end. He was a good sport about it and ended up having a fun and safe day and that to me is a win for your first IPSC-type event.

I hear this event is planned for mid April this year. That's a good thing; the doppies will be hot from shooting at speed, more than from the sun this time.

Wonder how I missed this thread? I will rather shoot it in summer then winter. Cold Effect the hands more.

April isn’t really winter though. Although I don’t know what Bloem is like in April, it could very well be stupid cold.

It was stupid hot in Nov.

Bloem winters have become quite mild over the last few years. Chilly mornings, but fairly warm during the days. Last winter we barely had any frost.
