Re: Coated lead bullets
There's been a number of threads for powder coating of cast bullets. I PC for my 9 mm and .357.

Re: Coated lead bullets
Where does one buy powder coat anyway. Is it available at gunshops or are there only specialised powder coating companies that sell it?

Re: Coated lead bullets
I did a few hundred .44 special and .38 as a test.
Using an old mini oven, temperature control is important, so you need either a good oven thermometer or hand-held infrared.
Once you know at the right temperature, mark it on the dial .
I find a bullet pre-heat of 70 degrees C before shaking bullets in the powder gets a good coverage and adhesion.

Re: Coated lead bullets
It is important to only use gloss powder paint, matte paints contain large particles which can be abrasive.

Re: Coated lead bullets
Some find casting and making own bullets relaxing and part of the hobby.
Although im fascinated by it and my friend is into it.
I find it easier to buy Frontier CMJ's. Would buy Josyd.
But they now to far away from where they were in CPT.
And there wax/lead prices are just about same as Frontier CMJ's
