Default 308 bullet for next season.

So i want to load a new combo for next year, been using the 180gr heavies till now in the 308.
1.) 150gr TTSX/ VRG4 . Mono, higher speed, meat damage may be a problem in the bush?

2.) 165gr bonded. Seems like a good compromise.

3.) 150gr bonded. Will it work as well as the 150gr monos work? Saw the result of a 150gr woodleigh through an elands shoulder and it reached vitals comfortably..

    308, 1/10" twist, 22" barrel.
Generally hunt up to waterbuck/wildebeest, eland is not on the cards next year. Bushveld generally with the possibility of plains.

I would go for a Norma Oryx 180 gr. Hard to beat at the price.

Explain the speed you want to shoot this combo at.

Messor, does speed have anything to do with stability of a bullet?

Ive given the Hornady ELD's a go the last month or two. As the ELDs are replacing Amax.
I honestly think they are brilliant.
You get them in ELD Match and ELD-X for hinting. So your load and OAL stays the same if you use same weight in them.
So you can have Match ammo and Hunting ammo. Loaded the same.

I will be using the ELD-x next year hunting.

I've also been doing some research re. hunting load for next year, and have settled on the 165gr Accubond. Now for some load development!

Sure, the faster you shoot a bullet the more stable it is at muzzle.

But that is not why I asked him, if he understands why I asked he'll know shooting 150gr bullets might not be worth it, at all.

Around 2700FPS, for expansion for the monos and better trajectory, or atleast this is what i have been told.

Have also loaded up my first batch of 165gr Accubond to try out for next year. Settled on it as a compromise on speed (vs 150 and 180). Specifically wanted bonded.

We first decide what we want to do, and then we select the right tool for the job.
You already have the tool, now you are trying to select what to do with it.

What we want out of a hunting load :
Terminal performance in order to kill the animal efficiently.
Accuracy, in order to achieve terminal performance.

So the 150gr TTSX will kill anything you mentioned, but how will you achieve your accuracy at that target speed? You said you want to shoot it at 2700ft/s, will your rifle be accurate at that speed or not?
