Bolt action safety makes a audible click when disengaging.

Listen to the guys in the know (TStone specifically) and rather bring a bolt action. I didn't see the huge muzzlebreak on the Ruger when I first replied, if it's detachable I still think it's the best option, else bring the Remington 308.

No man. You need to be sneaky. Don’t flick the safety off, move it off position while holding it in a firm grip between your fingers. No problem, no loud click, no spooked Kudu.

By the way if you do come to the Dark Continent and hunt the golden rule is. Pics or it didn’t happen.
Don’t take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.

And in his case I propose a special addition to the rule: visiting at least one Gunsiter

To take it off safe, simply cock the hammer to full cock.
I have hunted with a muzzle loader with an exposed hammer and it can be quietly cocked by holding the trigger back while cocking the hammer and then releasing trigger before taking your thumb off the hammer. Maybe the same applies to your BLR, however, very few ph's/guides will allow you to carry your rifle with a round in the chamber.

Yes, the BLR can be carried like that.

PHs won't let you carry with one in the pipe on safe?
