Re: Scope suggestions
It's a bit over your budget by $200 or so, but why not go for a nice Leopold? This one has a feature you want, the adjustable objective. It also has an ultra fine reticle. It's a classy scope that will last you forever. Buy once, Cry once. The prices in SA are crazy, this scope goes for about $300 here. Is it ITAR restricted or could you buy it here and save?

Get something that has either an AO or with a side parallax adjustment that will adjust down to a close setting....25Y or better. If you go with a variable magnification with a fixed parallax make sure it is a close setting.
The Leopold I linked will parallax down to 10 meters and can be had in matte and glossy.
I have a Mueller 4.5-14 X 50 AO that I really like, on my rimfire target rifle. I don't know if Mueller is available there?
Perhaps stick with scopes designed for use with rimfire rifles.

Re: Scope suggestions
Cheers Fumbles.
I'm hesitant to order from overseas- having read some of the experiences, it seems a bit hit-and-miss.
I won't rule it out, however.
Maybe one of our locals might run a special soon- at least that's what I'm hoping.
Any other input from forum members??

Re: Scope suggestions
Nikon 2-7x32. IIRC there's an AO version with adjustable parallax specifically for 22LR, but I think the bog-standard fixed parallax would work very nicely.
I currently have a 4-12x40 on my 22LR and it's just slightly too much scope for the gun. Also, with fixed parallax at closer-in aiming at the higher magnifications are a bit difficult, so it gets tuned down anyway.

Re: Scope suggestions
Last year I bought a CZ455 in 22lr. And I am a huge Lynx fan due to customer service.
But I bought a Hawke 22lr HV for it.
This Hawke scope has a crosshair specifically for 22lr.
Ive Zeroed it. It then has markings on crosshair for various distances.
So far with Winchester its spot on. With older Swartklip standard.
Its out at 100m by incredibly little. But thats with old Swartklip.
Very clear. Very affordable. And well built.
Makes shooting a 22lr and different distances easy as can be.

That Hawke looks very nice. Could you perhaps share the cost?

Re: Scope suggestions
Bought it from Suburban Guns.
I believe they import them.
Was just over 2000.
Could be a r100 more this year.
