Frustrations With Hunting Magazines
Today I read through the latest issue of "WildLand" magazine to be frustrated once more. As I am Greek, (obviously as my handle states) I am not of Afrikaans speaking and it is my third language. I understand the language and speak it but not fluent. I work in retail and a lot of customers are Afrikaans speaking and I get into great convos with them but just the basics. Hell basically all my friends aswell as my girlfriend and her family are Afrikaans! Yet I struggle very much to understand a lot of the articles written in the hunting mags and get frustrated when I really find an article I want to engage in and I can't understand it. I really try to understand and interpret the info but 9/10 times I'm forced to turn the page because I don't understand. I've emailed S.A. hunters twice asking for an E website that articles can be translated or any other possible solution with no avail.
I hope I'm not barking up the wrong tree or getting on some people's nerves but I'm trying to find a solution because I am way to passionate for hunting and general gun stuff to not read up at every opportunity I get. Am I the only one that feels this way? What do you guys think?

Re: Frustrations With Hunting Magazines
Edit:
Majority of the articles that involve reloading and ballistics are in Afrikaans. Maybe that's why I get more frustrated than usual lately.

Re: Frustrations With Hunting Magazines
Gun magazines are dead. The internet killed them.

Re: Frustrations With Hunting Magazines
Agreed, I'm finding more informative articles and reviews online than in any of the magazine's. And it's free.
WildLand R32.50
Wild & Jag R44.00
S.A. Hunter/Jagter R38.00
Magnum R39.00
I mean really, I get that they do a lot of work and it costs money to do the tests and and and but as I am crazy with my hunting and shooting in general I would literally buy all the magazine's every month. Reason why I'm fortunate and don't pay is because in the store I work it it's family owned so I read them and take them home for free but regardless I would pay for informative material.

What aspect of hunting are you looking for in hunting magazines?

Re: Frustrations With Hunting Magazines
Get your girl friend to translate for you and read you the article.
If she does a decent job with a smile, then marry her, she's a keeper.
