SAI vs. DM4 Comparison
Could someone possibly be so kind as to give a few objective pros and cons comparing the two local AR's?
I was drooling over a Sig M400 Elite this weekend, but budget is a stretch at this time.
Are our AR's comparable to the other entry level options such as the Colt Expanse/M&P Sport II/ Ruger etc?
If already discussed elsewhere, please advise.
Thank you

Re: SAI vs. DM4 Comparison
AR's aren't cheap to run or accessorize so rather buy right the first time
Having said that, most AR's available will do what you want them to do

Re: SAI vs. DM4 Comparison
Ah yes. The M400 Elite - the tormentor of my dreams. The M400 Elite has a carbine length system, with a 1 in 7 twist. Comes with Sig's Magpul-esque furniture (pistol grip, stock) and has a decent rail. Fitted with the Romeo 5 as standard. Think it's also fitted with an 'enhanced trigger' but not sure what exactly that entails. It's nice, but.. other AR's in that price range have a mid-length gas system. And I'd probably want a better known brand over the Romeo optic. Those are my 'issues' with it (other than the price, of course). If the Elite sold without the Romeo but sub-20 I'd probably punt it big time.Infected with the Signess and all that, I'd think I'd tend towards the Colt. For cheaper than that, you're probably looking at S&W's for about the price of DM4's and SAI's with the benefit of the S&W being more of a known quantity.

Re: SAI vs. DM4 Comparison
Rugers are so so. I had a look at one the other day. The staking was not great on the bcg and Castle nut.
For the cash I'd go Colt OEM or Smith and Wesson MP15

Re: SAI vs. DM4 Comparison
DM4 - assembled in ZA, locally made barrel (Musgrave), parts kit from??
SAI - made for Spartan by Stag/CMT? CMT supply/supplied oem parts for a few AR manufacturers S&W, RRA, Colt....etc
